When people think of Mother’s Day, they often imagine children giving flowers to their mothers. At Carroll Prep, we celebrate something even bigger.
Flower Day is a celebration of love, gratitude, and meaningful relationships. Every child is invited to choose someone who has made a difference in their life. For many children, that person is their mother. For others, it may be a father, grandparent, sibling, teacher, caregiver, or another special person they love.
Because every family is unique, we believe every child should have the opportunity to express appreciation to the person who helps them grow.
Every Child Blooms with Love
This year’s theme, Bloom with Love, celebrates the idea that children flourish through caring relationships. Love, encouragement, and connection help children become confident learners and compassionate people.
Our students selected the Zinnia as this year’s signature flower because it represents:
- Love
- Warmth
- Hope
- Joy
- Growth
- Resilience
Just like flowers, every child blooms in their own unique way.
More Than Flowers
Flower Day is also an opportunity for families to experience their child’s learning journey.
Visitors can explore interactive displays featuring children’s work in:
- Literacy and Writing
- Mathematics
- Creative Arts
- Languages
- Science and Discovery
- Social-Emotional Learning
Families will see how children have grown academically while also developing confidence, creativity, kindness, and resilience.
Celebrating Every Special Relationship
Although Flower Day takes place during the Mother’s Day season, the celebration is not limited to mothers.
We recognize that every child has different people who provide love, guidance, and support. Whether it is Mum, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, an aunt, uncle, older sibling, teacher, or caregiver, Flower Day gives children the chance to say one simple but meaningful message:
“Thank you for helping me bloom.”
